A Brief History of Rajawali Karunia Nusantara Foundation

It all started with the ministry of the servants of God and members of the Pentecostal Church in Indonesia (GPdI) Kasih Karunia Tanjung Priok, in several Correctional Facilities (Rutan) and Penitentiaries (Lapas) in the Jabodetabek, Semarang, Cilacap, Sukabumi, Pelabuhan Ratu, and other areas. This was a regular program of GPdI Kasih Karunia Tanjung Priok, including routine services at Rutan Salemba in Jakarta.

The team from GPdI Kasih Karunia always invited fellow believers to join in the service, not only from the congregation but also from other backgrounds, to serve together as Word Servants, Worship Leaders, Singers, and Music Teams. Their commitment has been a blessing, sharing love during every worship session with the inmates by providing food (biscuits, instant noodles), drinks (health drinks like Bejo/Energen, STMJ, coffee), and toiletries (soap, toothpaste, shampoo).

As time went by, on January 1, 2023, after the New Year's service at Rutan Salemba, they all returned home. One of the service team members, Ibu Popi, met a young man who turned out to be a former inmate. The young man shared his life's circumstances in both the community

and the church environment. He felt that there was no place for him, and no open arms were willing to accept him.

What saddened Ibu Popi, even more, was that, according to the young man, the church environment was not much different from the community. His story deeply touched Ibu Popi, as she believed that this soul needed continuous guidance so that his life's journey would align with the truth of God's word. In response to the young man's story, Ibu Popi expressed a desire to take real action.

On Sunday, January 15, 2023, during a service at Mercy International Indonesia Church (MIIC), led by Pastor Jopie Surmadi, Ibu Popi shared her heartfelt desire, and it was warmly welcomed by all participants of the MIIC service, as MIIC was a church without walls, with members from various denominations.

Week after week, they discussed intensively the service they would carry out, and God put it in their hearts to serve together in the fields of humanity, social work, religion, education, and health. Therefore, it was decided to establish a foundation focused on these areas.

On Wednesday, April 5, 2023, according to the agreement, the Establishment Deed of Rajawali Karunia Nusantara Foundation, abbreviated as RKN, was signed before a Notary. The Foundation was legally established and recognized with the Decree of the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, No. AHU-0005880.AH.01.04 of 2023. It was also registered under the Foundation Registration Number AHU-0008340.AH.01.12 of 2023 on April 6, 2023.
